About Undorbis
Welcome, visitor, to the amazing world of Undorbis. Here you will find a realm of fantasy unlike any other. Here you may be asking, "what is Undorbis?". Well, Undorbis is a unique fantasy world that I have been developing since early 2003. After having poured considerable time into this world, I came to the decision that I would love to share it with whoever cared to take a look. I have decided to do this in two ways.
The first way is to create the webcomic that you see on the home page. I very much enjoy drawing and have over 4 years of experience making webcomics, having run my webcomic Wizard & Warrior for over 600 strips. I learned a lot about webcomic making and art during that period and so I figured that making another webcomic would be a great way to express this world.
The second way is in the creation of an RPG using RPG Maker 2K3. I felt that this would give those who are interested in my world a chance to immerse themselves just a little bit more. I am still in the process of creating the RPG, though, and hope to have it completed around 2008 or 2009. It's a long process and my free time is limited, so that date is very tentative.
The game chronologically occupies a period of time 2 years before the comic and both will share a linked plot, although it will not be necessary to experience both to enjoy the site.
So please, if you have a little time, I invite you to relax and read some of my comic. It may not be the greatest webcomic out there, but I pour most of my creative energy into it and hope that you find my world at least half as entertaining and magical as I do. Thank you.

My love of fantasy and sci-fi comes from many, many wonderful people and I would like to take the time to thank them and how they have influenced me and my storytelling. This list is quite long as I doubt there are many things I've read that haven't influenced me in one way or another, so here goes:
FIRST AND FOREMOST:
- Isaac Asimov - For everything, but especially for showing me the value of a short story and teaching me to love every second of reading a good book.
- Stephen R. Donaldson - For Thomas Covenant - the best series ever written - and for showing me the amazing power of stories that are about people, not things.
THE REST OF THE LOT:
- George R. R. Martin - For showing me that a fantastic tale can be written without needing one central main character.
- Raymond E. Feist - For giving me faith in the genre again by writing stories that don't have to be a million books long to be good.
- Joe Dever - For Lone Wolf and the joy I still get just playing through one of his adventures.
- Tad Williams - For Otherland and for writing the most twisted character I have ever seen.
- J. R. R. Tolkien - For the birth of modern high fantasy. Without him, the dream would never even have formed.
- C. S. Lewis - For Narnia.
- Connie Willis - For Doomsday Book and showing me what the middle ages were really like.
- J. K. Rowling - For bringing a whole new generation to love reading and fantasy.
- Richard Garriott - For the vast amounts of time I put into Ultima 5, 6 and 7 and loved every second of it.
- Terry Goodkind - For Zedd and Nathan, 2 of the coolest characters I've ever had in a book.
- Robert Jordan - For showing me that just because you have a good idea, doesn't mean you automatically have good execution. That a good pace in a story is easily as important as content.
- George Lucas - For Star Wars and his great power of retelling the same ancient story in a new light.
- Shigeru Miyamoto - For a childhood of Nintendo and for Windwaker, which inspired the world of Undorbis.
- Piers Anthony - For long summer days where I could go through a whole Xanth novel and enjoy it.
- Jerry Bruckheimer - For reminding me just how cool and great pirates are and the wonder they can still elicit.
- Matt Goening - For Futurama. 'Nuff said.
- Gary Gygax - For giving me the power to create my own adventures instead of just reading about others'.
- Jim Newberry - For WALRUS: The PHP Webcomic Archive and Live Rant Update Script that powers the comic archiving here at Undorbis. Thanks for saving me countless hours.
About the Creator
Josh is a graduate student in Education at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He was a sucker for punishment and decided that getting only a Bachelor's in Astrophysics wasn't enough. So he expects to finish with a Master's of Education in 2008 and start a happy career as a high school physics and astronomy teacher. His hobbies and likes include but are not limited to: reading sci-fi and fantasy, videogaming, watching movies, playing board games, drawing, making failed attempts at bonsai, playing Dungeons and Dragons as both player and DM, webdesign, watching MST3K with friends, glorifying God, and singing. He very much hopes that you enjoy the site and now that you know so much about him that you don't stalk him as that would be flattering but creepy.
